Camper shopping

So we're looking into getting a camper. I have some idea of what I want but I can't decide on lots of beds or lots of open floor space with air mattresses. They have the ones with the 4 bunks in the back which are great. I could put 2 kids up on top and then the 2 Angels on the bottom bunks with railings that keep them from falling out. However, I wonder how well they will even sleep while camping. I think I might be better off with more floor space so they can lounge on air mattresses and fall asleep watching cartoons. We can always stack up the mattresses onto our bed during the day. Also it will leave more floor space for the Angels to play and hang out. They can't sit on couches or chairs without being strapped on so they're better left on solid ground. I have also thought that one with the kitchen in the front or back would be nice too. It allows for a lot more counter space and it keeps the stove away from all the kids. Plus I can cook and not worry about anyone being close to it. Many have the swivel chairs that can be removed to make more space. We could just bring the Dora, Pooh, and Spiderman couches for the kids to sit on.
The dining areas have regular booths, 'U' shaped booths, or freestanding tables with chairs. I thought that we could always take out the freestanding table and chairs and put in one of those white plastic card-type tables and folding chairs. That way we can get them out of there when they aren't in use for extra floor space.
Ok, I know some of the Angel parents check out my blog so please let me know if I'm missing anything.
Ooh, and I also am wavering on the glass patio door. It would make for nice viewing for the Angels but I wonder if they'd end up breaking it - or any of my other kids for that matter :o)

  1. Oh! I'm so jealous of your camper-purchasing abilities! ROTFLOL, if we even had the time to go camping life would be truly sweet. With the hubby on-call half the time it's just not happening.....poop.

    Take care!

  2. Just wanted to say I really like your blog.

I really admire your choice to adopt and care for these children.

I'll keep your family in my prayers.

BTW- We love camping! We have a 5th wheel. My husband wishes we had one with a bunkhouse (but when we got the camper we only had two kids), so ours has the master bedroom up top. This year the 3 littlest kids sleep on the bed and our oldest (with Angelman Syndrome) sleeps on the floor next to the bed.

    Best wishes.
